After a fantastic summer, I'm ready to head back to university for my final year. Although I'm not ready for stress third year brings, I'm definitely ready to get some routine back into my life!
Summer has been a turning point for me, careerwise. I've been working at WPR throughout the summer and have been offered a permanent grad job when I finish university. AMAZING!!
I love everything about WPR, the people, the work, the culture and I'm really pleased to have been offered the job. It definitely has taken some of the pressure of third year! I was particularly proud of the feedback I received when I was offered the job, as I was told everyone at WPR thinks I am a great addition to the team and that my work is brilliant, which was really great to hear.
I've also been doing some freelance work for Robinsons Butchers, where I used to work. This is a combination of PR & social media work and it's a great way for me to develop my skills. I have helped them launch their new bistro, securing coverage in a magazine and creating an organic social media post that reached over 13,000 people. I also lead a campaign to win the People's Favourite Business at the Wolverhampton Independent Retailer Awards. Unfortunately, we didn't win, losing to Robinsons Bakery. However, we did reach the top 4. Next year - I want us to win!
I've been thinking long and hard about my career and where I want to go. I've decided to pursue PR, and all of my third year modules are in line with this. I do love TV, but I don't think I would cope well with the instability and unsociable hours! I love PR, and I'm excited to see where third year takes me.
